PHILVOCS warns provinces due to Sea-level change 

Due to a destructive earthquake, Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology released an advisory pertaining to sea-level change monitoring last September 8. ​

 

The said earthquake has a magnitude 8.0 striking the coast of Chiapas, Mexico exactly at 12:49 pm in Philippine Standard Time.

 

​ According to PHILVOCS, the earthquake could generate a disastrous tsunami that can hit the coastlines in the region where the epicenter within minutes to hour. ​

 

The warn provinces are the ones that are facing the Pacific ocean such as Batanes Group of Islands, Cagayan, Ilocos Norte, Isabela, Quezon, Aurora, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Albay, Catanduanes, Sorsogon, Eastern Samar, Northern Samar, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Surigao del Norte, Surigao Del Sur, Davao Oriental, Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, and Davao Occidental. ​
