DOH pushes public to raise awareness against Japanese Encephalities, use of vaccines

- Rowie Briones

The Department of Health is encouraging the local executives and family to enhance their prevention and safety measures at home due to a new mosquito carried disease called Japanese Encephalitis.

According to DOH, they have already recorded 133 lab confirmed JE cases at the entire country.

Due to this, DOH is planning to suggest a vaccine to children this coming 2018 as seen as date supports this.

The said vaccine has no benefits when taken during peak season that's why DOH instructs private practitioners not to give JE vaccines during this time instead, focus on the 4s' instead.
