A Recharging Game called CHARGE
-Rowiz Briones
Despite the tight schedule of Quezon National High School’s students, they still find time to play this game called “Charge” to relieve their stress and still have fun during their busy days.
Charge is a social-interactive mind game that is played by two or more players. This game needs fast strategic skills. It is known for its reflexive and social values. It is a way to bond with other people.
“Nakatutulong ito sa communication, also in different aspects, at dito din nabubuo and friendship,” said Lychee Pomar, a student in QNHS.
Not only does it improve your social skills but also your reflexes. In this game, it allows you to be alert and react quickly. The mechanics and moves let you attack freely and swiftly.
How is it played?
In starting off the game, the first move is always the “Charge”. This serves as the key to unlock other attacks or move that can be used against your opponents.
For the first charge, you can unlock these moves: “Knife”, “Bang!”, and “Bounce”. “Knife”, you can only use this move to the person beside you. This can be defeated by the “bang!”.
“Bang!”, you can use this move against any player, may be beside you or across you. But it cannot work against “bounce” and other high-charged attacks.
“Kamehame Wave”, inspired by the famous anime series, Dragon Ball, the “kamehame wave” was born. It is worth two charges, it can defeat a “bang”, “knife”, and “bounce”. This can also breakthrough a shield.
“Mirror”, “Bazooka”, and “Teleport”, worth of three charges, these offenses can weaken your opponents.
“Mirror”, this is an upgraded version of “bounce”, but instead of bouncing back only one player’s attack, it can counterattack every player.
“Bazooka”, the best offense in the game. It can defeat all low-charged attacks and defenses except the “mirror” and the “teleport”.
“Teleport”, the best defense in the game. It lets you dodge every attack of every player. Their attacks did not reach you for you have “teleported”.
With these attacks you can formulate strategies to win and at the same time have fun. In a stressful school day, students take their chance to have a break and divert their attention from school with a game like “Charge”, not only they get a chance to temporarily forget about their tight schedule, but they also get to enhance certain skills in the process.
