September 14 when a Filipino named Jewel Rashias’s facebook post got viral and reached the hearts of thousands of Filipinos. It was about a 12 year old boy who has an exceptional skill in selling tinapa and daing.

 

“Paglapit pa lang ng bata, ang galing ng speech nya kung pano nya iniintroduce yung paninda nya akala mo nasa commericial”, Jewel stated in her post.

 

Behind his sweet smiles and good skills in attracting his customers, Lance Abarquez has been forced to take care of himself and work hard for his step-brother.

 

Lance tried collecting garbages amd selling bananaque for money, to only be given to his step-brother. He realized that it was already hard for him to keep his life back on track.

 

And so he decided to work for his neighbour, Nanay Helen, and helped her sell her products. According to him it was not easy for him to make Nanay Helen agree at first.

 

“Nung una po hindi nya po ako pinapayagang magtinda kasi daw po bawal pa.” Lance explained while smiling.

 

But when the next day came, they finally agreed to let him sell her tinapa and daing. Right after that, nanay Helen saw a potential in Lance’s determination so she decided to adopt him.

 

It has become an everyday scenario for lance that he would wake up early in the morning and prepare for his classes at 6 am. After his class at 12 pm, that is when another round of battle for Lance.

 

Despite sacrifices and hardships that lance made, he never failed to show his smile amd remind himself that he could win his own battle. That one day, he will finally achieve his goals.
